Ash
Ash tree usually grows as an individual tree, reaching the height of about 40 m. It has strong roots and a smoothly shaped trunk with a broad crown. It grows along river banks or streams, on moist, well-drained soil. The wood is light-coloured, beige-to-light-brown, without black hue. Thicker trees, may appear with logs having the so-called olive-coloured heart. This is one of our hardest and toughest woods.
It dries quickly and easily. It is used for sports equipment (oars, gymnastic equipment, sledges), furniture, floor coverings, veneer, curved timber.
